Vice President, Group Corporate Communications, DFCC Bank, Rosheeni
Wijesekara said, "In 2012, the Bank focused mainly on schools in rural
areas of the North and the East that was ravaged by terrorism.
The schools were in poor condition and had been neglected for many
years. Giving these children an opportunity to adopt a program of this
nature in their schools was a turning point for the teachers and
parents.
It was truly rewarding to see the transformation. Children have
successfully adopted these good habits, reflected in their behaviour
demonstrating greater discipline and productivity, while being more
enthusiastic to attend school."
The following schools were selected to implement and adopt the 6S and
3R during 2012.1st place - Trincomalee Vigneswara Maha Vidyalaya, 2nd
Place - Kahawatta Primary School, 3rd place - Vavuniya Church of Ceylon
