Japanese assistance for Northern projects

A meeting with JICA representatives was held under the Chairmanship of Governor of the Northern Province G.A. Chandrasiri at his sub-office in Battaramulla recently.

A project is to be implemented to develop the infrastructure of 10 villages in each district.

This project will focus on drinking water supply, road development, renovation of tanks and irrigation, access roads to tanks, inland fishing and micro-credit facilities for farming. Chief Secretary of the Northern Province R. Wijialudchumi and others took part in the discussion.
