K’gala district fields highest number of candidates :
Elections for Central, Northern and North Western PCs on Sept. 21
Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya fixed
September 21 as the date for the elections for Central, Northern and
North Western Provincial Councils as the filing of nominations were
closed at 12 noon on Thursday (August 1) after the District Returning
officers accepted 201 nominations lists from recognised political
parties and Independent groups in 10 districts.
