Janakaraliya sets up new centre for theatre arts
Janakaraliya has set up Rangasharanee, a new centre for theatre arts
in Anuradhapura to mark its 10th anniversary.
With the inauguration ceremony of the centre, the newest Janakaraliay
production, Henry Jayasena's Hunuwataye Katawa will be staged on
September 3 and 4 at the Rangadharanee Theatre.
The new version of Hunuwataye Katawa is directed by Parakrama
Niriella.
The cast includes Sanjeeva Upendra, Dilip Rohana, Ronika Chamalee,
Dinesh Swarna Sri Livera, Selvaraj Leelawahie, Palitha Ebeylal, Rasaiya
Lohanathan, Arosha Tharanganee, Sumudu Mallawaarachchi, Sarath Banagala,
Inoka Lankapura, Murugesu Ajanthan, Thiyagaraja Sivaneshan, Vijitha
Hettige, Yasho Prasad, Janith Dissanayake, Amila Dinesh Kumara,
Samanlatha Dissanayake, V. Kadiragamar, V. Thyagaraja, M.G. Madeera
Udishani, Kumareshan Mahendran, Thilini Nimesha, Daminda Mendis and
Nipun Nirmal Bandara.
Catamarans and golden oldies
Moratuwa music lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy the golden
oldies when the Catamarans present 'Sing-along with Cats’ on September 7
at Hotel Ranmal in Gorakana, Moratuwa. The occasion will be the
celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Club and the music will be
provided by Super Pink and Purple led by Lincoln de Silva. A free song
book will be given at the entrance.
Sokari will be staged at the Namel-Malini Punchi Theatre today at
3.30 p.m. and 6.45 p.m.
Balloth Ekka Be will be staged at the Tower Hall Theatre on September
8 at 3.30 pm and 6.45 pm.
Adara Vasthuva will be staged at the Lionel Wendt Theatre today at
3.30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Charandas will be staged at the Tower Hall on September 7 at 3.30 pm
an 6.45 pm. |
