Timex wins Silver at NCE Awards
Timex Garments, an apparel manufacturer and exporter to markets in
the EU and USA, won a Silver award in the extra large garments category
for 2012, at the 21st Annual National Export Awards ceremony recently.

This ceremony was a presentation of the National Chamber of Exporters
(NCE) which is dedicated to exclusively serve exporters in Sri Lanka.
"Timex is honoured to receive such recognition in the export industry
and this award represents its progress in the apparel industry for
almost three decades," a company spokesman said.
"Despite stiff competition from regional manufacturers in China,
India, Bangladesh and Vietnam, Timex has been successful at converting
regional threats into new business opportunities," he said.
"Timex Garments strongly focuses on excellent branding efforts and
forging new retailing opportunities, which help to keep the company
ahead of competition and focused on a steady growth path in its
specialised area of women's dresses and intimate apparel," the spokesman
said.
"Since its beginnings in the early 1960s, Timex Garments has shown a
track record of prudent management and consistent growth," he said.
In 2007, its sister company, Fergasam Garment Industries won NCE
Silver award for its export performance. |
