Dharmasiri Dassanayake , new NWPC Chief

Dharmasri Dassanayake was elected NWPC chairman at the inaugural session of the newly elected Wayamba Provincial Council on Friday.

Senior UPFA Councillor Dharmasiri Dassanayake's name was proposed by UNP Councillor M.S. Perera and seconded by UNP Councillor Ajith Rohana. In keeping with the Council's norms a secret ballot was held and Dharmasiri Dassanayake secured 30 votes as against 22 votes by Indrani Dassanayake.
