Thailand PM Shinawatra rules out early election
Thai Prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra has ruled
out an early election, following six days of protests aimed at
removing her from office. She told the BBC the situation in Thailand
was not calm enough for polls. She also said she would not authorise
the use of force against protesters occupying government ministries.

Syrian women targeted for rape and sex crimes
Women are increasingly the targets of sexual
abuse and torture as Syria’s civil war intensifies, according to a
report. At least 6,000 women have been raped since the start of the
conflict in March 2011 but most refuse to speak out because of the
nature of the crime.
