Four records at Weightlifting Nationals

Four national records were established at the 47th Weightlifting Championships held at the YMCA ,Kandy.

The record breakers were in the women's category are: 49 kgs Dinuda Abeysekera of Polonnaruwa WLC set a new record in the clean and jerk category lifting 76 kgs. The previous being 75 kgs. In the 69 kgs category Samanga Kumarasinghe of Sri Lanka Air Force set a new record in the snatch category lifting 70 kgs. The previous being 68 kgs set by Vinodha

Dharmasena of Sri Lanka Air Force. In the 75 kgs Dammika harischandra of the Sri Lanka Air Force set two records in the clean and jerk category 9t kgs and a total of 172 kgs. Dammika broke her own rec

ord which was 96 kgs and 171 kgs. In the men's 85 kgs category Romesh Samarasekera of Air Force lifted 165 kgs in the clean and jerk category . The previous record was 164 kgs by Romesh himself.
