Cover: Sigiriya Rally Cross '14

The Sri Lanka Air Force and Slardar organised a motorcycle rally where children between 7 and 10 years participated in the motorcycle event. Here a budding motorcyclist is seen in a stunt performance during the event. Tharuka Rumesh on motorcycle 103, Kesara Thinodh Godage on motorcycle 6 and Nisasala M. Jayasundera on Motorcycle 46 were the winners.

Meemure Primary school in the rural outback of Meemure lacks even the basic facilities that schoolchildren in the towns enjoy. The school has just 22 students. They come from poor, rural homes and do not have any of the luxuries that children of their age take for granted in the towns. Our staff photographer Susantha Wijegunasekera captured this endearing photograph of the children running to their homes before dusk!.
