Rhoda Baxter’s passion for fiction writing
Influenced by factors as Sri Lankan teledramas of
the 80s and Enid Blyton novelist Rhoda Baxter who is a Sri Lankan by
birth domiciled in the UK found writing fiction as a calling that
was very much inherent to her nature for creativity and love for
Damayanthi’s debut play Gasthuwa Keeyada at Punchi Theatre
Gasthuwa Keeyada will be staged at the Namel
Malini Punchi Theatre, Colombo 8 on October 5 at 3.30 p.m and 6.45
p.m. There will be a repeat show at the S.D.S. Jayasinghe Hall,
Dehiwala on October 12 at 3.30 p.m and 6.45 p.m.

A poet driven by an inner compulsion
This week Booktalk is dedicated to Malinda
Seneviratne, a well-known poet who won the Gratiaen Prize in 2013
for his book of poetry ‘Edges’. “One of my greatest joys is poetry.
I read it almost every day, and I've even taken a stab at writing
some of my own from my younger days,”- Malinda Seneviratne.
