Father and daughter killed in train tragedy

A thirty eight- year-old man and his nine-year-old daughter were run over by a Peradeniya bound train in Kandy while walking along the railway tracks yesterday morning.

The victims were identified as S A P M Abeykoon, a Lance Corporal attached to the Ratmalana Army Camp and his daughter Midusha Dulmini. They were residents of Panabokka in Davulagala.

According to Police the duo were walking along the tracks when they were hit by the train from the rear. The tragedy took place near the Kandy Courts Complex. The bodies are lying at the Peradeniya Hospital Morgue.
