"Kreeda" wins Youth Choice Magazine Award

Kreeda-a fortnight magazine published by the Associated Newspapers of
Ceylon Ltd won the "Youth Choice Magazine" award at the Sandeshaya
Awards 2014, organised by the Broadcasting Unit of Ananda College,
Colombo. Media Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka was the chief guest on
the occasion.
The winners of this award ceremony have been selected by an
islandwide Youth Media Research conducted in 485 schools. Over 10,000
students took part in it. The IT unit of the Colombo University was
instrumental in choosing the winners.
Kreeda - which was launched in 1983 - is a sports magazine featuring
local and international articles, news, or segments on sports and
photographs. Some may be published to mark special sports events.
Also present on the occasion were Education Minister Akhila Viraj
Kariyawasam, Ports, Shipping and Aviation Minister Arjuna Ranatunga,
Principal, Ananda College, Kithsiri Liyanagamage Deputy Principal Ven
Hanguranketha Chandrarathana and Teacher in charge of the Broadcasting
Unit Dhammika Perera. |
