Int'l packaging exhibition in May
The Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging (SLIP) with CDC events and
connected organizations such as the Packaging Development Centre (the
'technical-arm' of the SLIP), will organize an all-encompassing
exhibition in May 2016.

The 16th edition of the International Packaging Exhibition in Sri
Lanka - Lankapak 2016, will be held from May 6-8 at the BMICH.
Lankapak 2016 will set the stage for Sri Lanka's packaging industry
to showcase the latest and most sophisticated products and services used
all around the world.
This exhibition will educate potential buyers on new packaging
techniques which will be of paramount importance to add more value to
their products at competitive prices. Lankapak 2016 has been endorsed by
the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the World Packaging
Organization and the Asia Packaging Federation.
PCL Solutions will be the Diamond sponsor for Lankapak 2016.
President, Sri Lanka Packaging Institute, J.D.C Perera said, "This
event is held in conjunction with Food and Bake Colombo 2016, organized
by the Chefs Guild of Sri Lanka, in Hall B of the Exhibition Centre."
"The SLIP will conduct a two-day training program on packaging and
its objectives, followed by a one-day Congress supported by the Asian
Packaging Federation (APF) with resource personnel from Sri Lanka, India
and other member countries of the Asian Region," he said.
"We expect many from the Asian Region to exhibit their products at
Lankapak 2016," Perera said.
"We look forward to the active participation of packaging material
and machinery suppliers from member countries of the Asian Packaging
Federation, especially India and China, being the biggest suppliers to
the Sri Lankan packaging industry," he said.
The upcoming Lankapak 2016 exhibition will be a success with the
support and effort extended by State and private sector organizations,
an SLIP spokesman said. The Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging set up in
1975 has showcased packaging developments in the country through its
exhibitions in Colombo since 1981. |
