E FM expands its Experiential Events portfolio

E FM and EBC Radio scaled to greater heights in its endeavour to bring new and exciting experiences to its audience, hosting the first in a series of personal motivation events in early August 2016.

The event featured Jayanthi and Johann, Sri Lanka’s first duo to summit Mount Everest

Titled 'Conquer Your Own Everest' the event featured Jayanthi and Johann, Sri Lanka's first duo to summit Mount Everest, sharing their challenging two month journey to the top of the world's highest mountain. The hour long presentation that detailed the harrowing experience of reaching the summit and the personal and physical challenges they had to overcome, received a standing ovation from the 300 guests in attendance at the Jubilee Ballroom at Galle Face Hotel.

EBC Chief Operating Office, Chalaka Gajabahu said, "We were truly inspired by Jayanthi and Johann's story and it was evident with the pin drop silence that prevailed for the entirety of their presentation that much of Sri Lanka feels that same. We strongly feel their achievement is up there with the 1996 Cricket World Cup and the Silver Medal win in the Olympics. They truly deserved the overwhelming response from the audience."

The event, which celebrated the significant milestone in Sri Lanka's history also helped set a milestone in EBC's own timeline. EBC Radio, which is Sri Lanka's first privately owned Radio Network and is home to three of the most in demand stations; E FM, Shree FM and RanOne FM and has been in the forefront of some of the biggest shows, promos and giveaways on radio in Sri Lanka.

"Conquer Your Own Everest set EBC in a new direction in its events and experiences. We have consistently brought the best of entertainment, movies, promos and giveaways. We feel there aren't enough events celebrating personal achievement and inspiring others to make a breakthrough themselves. We are already planning our next event and expect it to draw a much bigger audience," concluded Chalaka.
