Wijesinha said.He said that the company had mixed fortunes during the year. The year commenced with many problems. Delivery schedules could not be kept resulting in customers being disappointed. In addition the morale of the staff was low and team work was ebbing. The turnover was poor. This resulted in the company recording a loss during the first six months of 2004. However, the company was able to turnaround during the second half with all key performance indicators recording progress. It was achieved by going in for more stringent bottom line control in every area of operation, reviewed production processes and the entire supply chain. Closer bonds between the staff raised the morale and motivation. (S.G.) |
