Zigbee electro display to revolutionise advertising industry

by Don Asoka Wijewardena

The Zone 24/7 Technology Solutions Company headquartered in California in the United States launched "the zigbee electro phoradic display" technology to the Sri Lankan market on Wednesday. It is a cutting edge technology that can revolutionise the display in the advertising industry in Sri Lanka, said Zone 24/7 Technology Solutions company Chief Executive Officer and President Llavan Fernando at the launching ceremony at the Hotel Taj Samudra.

Addressing a press conference Fernando said that the innovative Zigbee electro phoradic display board could be used in a variety of applications including supermarket displays as many department stores all over the world had been trying different techniques to attract consumer interest and added that using signs to display discounts, promotions and clearance had become a necessity.

Referring to its usage Fernando said that unlike paper-based signs that were not re-usable electronic signs could be reused, resulting in cost savings as human intervention was not necessary to make changes and added that traditional displays could also result in errors.

Fernando said that Zigbee was the only wireless standards-based technology that enabled deploymment of wireless networks with low cost and low power solutions to run for years on its ordinary batteries.

Zone 24/7 General Manager Shoba Wijayawardane said that Zone 24/7 employed the finest technology talent in the United States and Sri Lanka. High quality display and ease installation had been a must if electronic signs were to be used in high end department stores.

This innovative solution could price details on electronic signs in any part of the country from a central location. If Sri Lankan companies adopted this it would turn a brand new leaf in the marketing communication and advertising industries.
