Micron Paint launched with SLS certification Micron Paints, Sri Lanka's first truly low cost paint range to be introduced with a quality guarantee also has been awarded the Sri Lanka Standard (SLS) certification for its quality and ISO 9001-2000 certification, a spokesman for the company said. Today's paint market prices have shot up to an extent where it has become a commodity which isn't affordable to many in the middle and the lower middle classes. Macksons Paints considers it is their moral and social responsibility to fulfil the painting needs of the people in all walks of life, said the Head of Business Development, Ms. Nilrukshi de Silva. The innovative approach the company has taken in formulating this range of low cost paints is a result of painstaking research and development efforts carried out during the past five years. This new pricing system will no doubt be a welcome change and relief to consumers across the country that has been on the look out for paints of acceptable quality without the high price. SLS chairman Armyne Weerasinghe, commended the company's efforts in bringing in innovative solutions to a market which was starved of new inventions that would make the lives of the consumer just that bit easier with products at affordable prices without compromising on quality. AGM Sales, of Macksons Paints Ramesh Perera, said that the response from the market for the range is very encouraging and he is confident the company will be able to handle the supplies for its unprecedented demand.
