Sri Lanka(Blue Star) beaten 8-1 Bernard Perera reporting from Nepal Kathmandu, Saturday - Sri Lanka's Blue Star SC in their second game yesterday against Kyrgyzstan failed to live upto expectations and lost by 8 goals to one at the Dasarath Stadium. Kyrgyzstan got the better of the Lankans in just 25 seconds scoring their first goal, which affected the morale of the Lankans, the 10th minute, Kyrgyzstan extended their lead to 2-0. Lankans fought well to reduce the lead in the 16th minute, but this did not last long. The opponents kept on adding to their score regularly in the first-half and led 5-1. In this session, Khromal Dmitry, the mid-fielder, was shown the red card. The second session commenced with Lankans having the possession of the ball for 10 minutes. Later, Kyrgyzstan took control too and went onto score three goals in the 30th, 34th and the 42nd minute giving no chance for Lankans to make a comeback. Bangladesh referee S. T. Hassan had a tough time in controlling the game as the Lankan's opponents were engaged in rough play most of the time taking advantage of their physique. Lankans play Cambodia on Monday in their third game. |
