Noritsu boosts photographic industry The local photographic industry will get a boost with the introduction of the Noritsu QSS 3300 Digital Minilab System, made by Noritsu, Japan, claimed to be the world leader in digital photo-finishing technology. The system is a recent innovation into the world. Millers Ltd is its official distributor and accredited service provider in Sri Lanka. The system has additions of software, such as higher speeds of finishing, correction of defects in prints from using fixed focus cameras and automatic correction of dust/scratches on the emulsion layer of film, Noritsu's sales engineer, Yeo Kim Puay, based in Singapore, said at its launch in Colombo. The QSS 3300 Digital Minilab System is recommended for large and medium photo-finishing units costing US$9300 (Rs 9.3 million) without additions, Puay said. Millers would obtain bank loans for its customers. The Noritsu equipment used in the Miller's photographic laboratory in Colombo 2, cost Rs 16 million, a company spokesman said. Millers also says that it imported the first Noritsu colour minilab in the late 80s and has since invested much on training engineers and transfer of technology ensuring world-class service to all Noritsu customers in the island. Products of Eastman Kodak, the world leader in imaging are distributed in Sri Lanka by Millers. Kodak and Noritsu are strategic partners and had been working closely to develop the photo-finishing industry worldwide. Kodak in particular operates the world's largest non-food franchise under the "Kodak Express" chain, manager, Kodak express, here, Tyron Perera said. At the launch, Kodak offered marketing support through Kodak Express Franchise to all Noritsu Digital Minilab customers. EL |
