Triple score for Maliban

Maliban was recently awarded ISO status in three different areas of service standards, which serve as a benchmark for the quality and assurance in delivering utmost value to the consumers.

Maliban was awarded the ISO 14000 and ISO 22000 certification - the former pertaining to the environment and the latter certification for food safety standards. Maliban is currently the first and only biscuit company to achieve the ISO 22000 certification.

Maliban also had the distinction of being the first biscuit manufacturing company in Sri Lanka to be awarded the ISO 9001 certification in 1995 - which was later upgraded in 2003 to ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Certification. The company was also the first to achieve the National Quality Award in 1996.

Chief Executive Officer of Maliban, Keerthi Adaasuriya said "We are deeply mindful of our responsibility towards the community, through our business operations and procedures as well as our commitment towards our consumers. Maliban prides itself on the strict quality measures to assure food safety which is an intrinsic part of the operations of the company."
