VIBHAVI ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS PRESENTS VAFA @ 10

Vibhavi Academy of Fine Arts has the privilege of being the only institution outside of the state institutional system that's imparts a tertiary level education in Fine Arts in Sri Lanka today.

Students have come to the Vibhavi Academy of Fine Arts (VAFA) from all over the island, and from all sectors of the population. They are at different educational levels, and have varying likes and dislikes.

We are embarking now on a course of inquiry, to ascertain what we feel and think as we turn back and look at the paths we have taken over the ten years that we have been associated with the Vibhavi Academy.

This is a moment in which we have the space and the time in which to look at and assess ourselves and our work. We came to Vibhavi with a great desire to learn. Over the years we have spent with the Academy, the courses of study and the guidance that we have received from our teachers and mentors have led to the sharpening of our skills and capacities and have made a deep impact on our lives. We feel very confident with our VAFA experience.

Learning Art and making Art is our goal. All the teachers of VAFA are practicing artists, and the studio environment helps us to broaden our skills and visual thinking.

VAFA Visual Art Education is not certificate oriented. VAFA believes in practice and devotion. Of course we artists are not produced in classroom laboratories. We grow inch by inch like a tree in the forest, exposed to cultural, political and spiritual suns, rains and winds of human society.
