Toastmaster's at Moratuwa University

The University of Moratuwa (UOM) installed a Toastmasters Club at a ceremony held at the HNB Towers recently.

President UOM Toastmasters Club CTM, Professor Ananda Jayawardena addressing the gathering said that the success of a toastmasters club depends on the number of the competent communicators it produces and the number of new members it continuing to attract and members of UOM Toastmasters Club are already on their way to achieve Distinguished Club status from Toastmasters International for outstanding progress.

He said that the mission of the club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self confidence and personal growth.

Chairman Dankotuwa Porcelain Sunil Wijesinghe was the chief guest at this event. Lectures were delivered by prominent speakers CTM Niranjan De Silva and ATM Rajiv Goonatilake at the educational session held before the installation ceremony.
