Veteran hotelier Paddy at the helm of Carsons Hotels

Former Director, John Keells Hotels and former Chairman, Ceylon
Tourist Board, versatile hotelier, Paddy Withana has been appointed
Director, Carson Cumberbatch Hotels. Paddy is a pioneer in Sri Lanka's
hospitality industry.
He has been in the travel industry for over 35 years. Within a short
period of Paddy's appointment as Director, Carson Cumberbatch Hotels,
Pegasus Reef, Hendala and Giritale Hotel, Giritale, which are owned and
managed by Carsons, have seen a new lease of life.
Under the direction of Paddy Withana, Pegasus Reef Hotel, the Garden
resort by the beautiful Uswatakeiyawa beach has been fully refurbished
at a cost of Rs. 225 million. Pegasus now offers star class facilities,
and the hotel now offers 107 deluxe rooms with all modern star class
facilities.
Within a short period, Pegasus has become popular for MICE (Meetings,
Incentives, Conference and Exhibitions)
Paddy was the past President of the Ceylon Hotel School Graduates'
Association (CHSGA) and Past Chairman of Hotel and Catering
International Management Association (HCIMA). He was also the past
District Governor, Lions District 306A.
With Paddy's wide experience in the hotel industry, it is no doubt
that Carson Hotels, a very senior company in Sri Lanka's Hospitality
Industry, is bound to result in broader visions.
