Junior National Netball Oct 14 and 15

Twenty teams will participate at the Junior National Netball
Tournament (Under 21) conducted by the Netball Federation of Sri Lanka
to be held on October 14 and 15 at the National Youth Services Council
at Maharagama.
Rio Ramlan, Secretary, NFSL said that this tournament was postponed
due to South Asian Games and school examinations.
This tournament will be for under-21 and the best players will be
selected for the national junior netball pool which will be under
Thilaka Jinadasa and Deepthi Alwis.
Teams in the fray are defending champions Mercantile NA, runners-up
Kurunegela DNA, Mannar DNA (2 teams), Play grounds CMC (2), Western
Province DNA (2), Colombo District NA (2), Kandy DNA (2), State Services
NA, Sri Lanka Schools NA (2), Gampaha DNA (2).
Ramlan said that the draw will take place today, Sunday October 8 at
10 a.m. at the NFSL headquarters, Reid Avenue.
There will be awards for Best Allround Players, Best Centre
CourtPlayer, Best Shooter, Best Defence Player, Most Promising Player,
Well Disciplined team and the Netball Queen. |
