'Youth Kingdom' to achieve empowerment

The youth in the country will get an opportunity to join `Youth
Kingdom' which will be opened this month.
"The main objective of initiating the program which is conducted in
all three languages is to bring Sri Lankan youth together," the Program
Director Senaka Dambawinne told a media briefing in Colombo.
He also said the 'Youth Kingdom', a web portal (www.youthkingdom.net)
has been created by 'Voice of Youth' to facilitate networking of all
youth organisations in Sri Lanka.
"This is a place for our own younger generation irrespective of any
racial differences to meet, talk, interrogate, take action and make
connections with the rest of the world," Program Chairman, Aminda Perera
said.
He said the program will also facilitate youth with job
opportunities, entrepreneurship promotions and skills development
opportunities.
The program will further pave the way to promote youth activities and
participatory development to achieve the empowerment of youth in Sri
Lanka.
The 'Youth Kingdom' also called upon the Lankan youth to log into
their career guidance page as it will provide them with proper guidance
to select employment opportunities.
Any registered youth organisation, having members in the age group
between 15-24 could join the 'Youth Kingdom' at Kotte Road, Mirihana,
Nugegoda.
