11th Annual Mercedes Benz Pageant on May 6

The legendary classic marque in automobiles, the Mercedes-Benz, will be showcased again when proud owners in Sri Lanka display their prized possessions at the 11th Annual Mercedes Benz Pageant organised by the Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka on Sunday, May 6 at the BMICH, the organisers said.

A collection of this classic luxury marque will be on show, featuring a range of models from pre-war to post-war, vintage to modern.

Ranjith Pandithage, Chairman and CEO of Diesel and Motor Engineering Company Limited, general distributor of this luxury brand of automobiles in Sri Lanka, which also sponsors the pageant said, 'Once again, it's time for a grand display of the ultimate in sheer class, comfort and safety where your vehicle is concerned; it's time for the Mercedes-Benz pageant, one of the most prestigious and eagerly awaited family gatherings on the motoring calendar in the country. DIMO is proud to be the sponsor of this elegant family gathering.'

A unique opportunity for visitors to the show will be the facility of seeing a car of the future, the 'Zero-Emission' Mercedes-Benz A-Class Fuel-Cell car. DaimlerChrysler's global fuel-cell initiative aims to speed up the development of fuel-cell vehicles and the hydrogen infrastructure. DaimlerChrysler currently operates 100 fuel-cell vehicles around the world - the largest fleet of fuel-cell vehicles from any auto-maker.

Nigel Austin, President of the Mercedes-Benz Club of Sri Lanka said 'Indeed, every year not only our MB Club Members, but all the Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and the public in general eagerly look forward to the Mercedes-Benz Pageant; so exclusive is this event.

This year, the gathering will have the title, the "Mercedes-Benz Family Pageant", to celebrate the legend and class of this marque - 'every motorist's dream'.'

The Mercedes-Benz Family Pageant will be an opportunity for the whole family to celebrate the marque in ultimate luxury automobiles. It will be a time for meeting and greeting, reminiscing, taking photographs, winning prizes and enjoying a day that will be remembered forever.

The first part of the Mercedes-Benz Family Pageant will be devoted to members of the Mercedes-Benz fraternity of Sri Lanka and their families, giving them an opportunity to win a host of prizes, meet other Mercedes Benz families and enjoy their shared interest apart from lots of good food, music and a variety of other activities.
