The much awaited Male Icons Awards Presentation night proved to be an overwhelming success with a capacity packed audience waiting eagerly to witness the unveiling of the Male Icons. It was glitzy night last Thursday at the Colombo Hilton - the males in their penguin outfits (black tie) and the ladies dolled up in shimmering fashions.

This new league of gentlemen chosen with the objective of being role models for the youth to follow were selected from the world of sports, entertainment, art and from the corporate field.

The winners were Bathiya Jayakody, Santush Weeraman, Mahela Jayawardena, Kumar Sangakkara, Dayan Gomes, Deshamanya Ken Balendra and Deshamanya Dr. Lalith Kotalawela.

The female jury panel comprised Rosy Senanayake (Chairperson), Chandini Rajaratnam, Jayomi Lokuliyana, Nayana Karunaratne, Angela Seneviratne, Kamini Mukuntha and Rozanne Diasz.

The Chief Guest was Dominick Chilcott, British High Commissioner in Sri Lanka who presented the awards along with Fouzul Hameed, Managing Director of Hameedia and Nimal Weerasekera, Executive Director of SLIM.
