Taxila swimmers for Bangkok meet

SWIMMING: Thirty six swimmers, both boys and girls from Taxila
Aquatic Club, Horana will compete for the first time at the 29th
International Youth Swimming Championships to be held on June 23 and 24
at Chulaprnwalailuck Swimming Pool of Kasetsart University in Bangkok,
Thailand.
The Taxila Aquatic Club swimmers have been invited by the organisers
of the meet Kasetsart University in Thailand, according to W. S. Bandula
Secretary of Taxila AC. Bandula said that this meet is for competitors
aged between 9 to 17 years and normal events will be held. Already 36
swimmers and 2 officials have been selected.
The 36-member squad is expected to leave on June 21 and the swimmers
have to bear all expenses, including air fare. Bandula is looking for
generous sponsors to assist the swimmers.
Bandula who is also captain of the Police Life-Saving Sports Club
added that most of the swimmers selected are not in a position to pay
for the trip to Thailand.
The swimmers selected are: Pathum Priyanka, Hiranya Ranawake, K. K.
Charuka, Kanishka Indranuwan, D. Samarakoon, M. Methayana, Lakshika
Vitharanage, Kumari Leelaratne, Kalpalan Rodrigo, S. Samarakoon,
Lakshitha Madushan, Naditha Harshana, K. Chathuranga, Lahiru
Kumaratillake, Chamara Rashmin, Maduwantha Kannangara, Laksitha Perera,
Nuwan Kumara, Yashan Ravindu, R. Kodikara, Iroshana Witharana, D. S.
Witharana.
Buddhuni Erandika, Sachini Anuththara, Pushpika Madhuratharangi,
Chamindi Amerasinghe, Thilini Nilakshika, Apsara de Silva
Rajakarunaratne, Oshani Jeewangika, Akila Suraweera, Nadika Divakara,
