LB Finance signs up with SLT

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) signed an agreement with LB Finance recently, becoming the sole data communications provider for the company.

Under the agreement, SLT will offer its Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP-VPN) Solution, which is a unique, customised communication solution to meet the specific needs of LB Finance. The islandwide branch network of LB Finance will be connected using IP-VPN, which offers multiple products, such as data, video, Internet and secured network services.

This communication solution caters to data communication and high speed Internet facility by connecting the head office of LB Finance to its 33 branches, collection points and pawning centres islandwide providing high bandwidth connectivity.

The investment in IP-VPN allows all of the company's branches to have access to a centralised IT network at any given time, enabling the branch to communicate with other branches as well as the head office. The network can carry Internet Protocol (IP) traffic such as video, mission critical and standard class data and voice in a secure manner facilitating LB Finance with seamless connectivity.

"We chose SLT as a partner in acknowledgment of the fact that it is flexible enough to provide us customised communication solutions to cater to any business environment, in an effective way," Sumith Adihetti, Managing Director, LB Finance, said.

Commenting on behalf of LB Finance, Rajeev Munasinghe, Asst. General Manager, ICT said, "I consider SLT as the communication service provider who has the capability of providing the best possible technology and reliable connectivity".

The geographical spread of the network will be flexible and scalable to suit the needs of LB Finance's future expansion needs as and when they arise. Also if the number of branches increases, the investment required to make offices in remote areas fully accessible in terms of communication is minimal.

The agreement between SLT and LB Finance cuts down costs of inter branch communication and increases productivity, resulting in cost effective real time communications.

"We are committed to support our valuable customer, LB Finance to grow competitively, by providing total communication solutions. With regard to future expansion and business requirements, companies' need fully integrated total communication solutions.

Being the only integrated communication provider in Sri Lanka, SLT in a position to provide any type of communication solutions to the Sri Lankan business community using state-of-the-art IP technology" Ajantha Seneviratne, General Manager, Sales, SLT said.
