Triad launches 'CAN' Awards

Triad Advertising will launch the first ever internal ad awards in a bid to recognise and encourage the agency's creative talent. An initiative which has been in the pipeline for several months will culminate on June 29 with an awards ceremony that will reward work which demonstrates not only exceptional creativity but also dedication to craft.

The "CAN" Awards, the agency hopes will enhance the enthusiasm among the agency's team to strive for greater excellence and be a catalyst in creating a "Can do" attitude across every function.

"The idea for the awards, really, arose from our own need to be constantly at the cutting edge. We understood that apart from participating at industry level, we needed to create a forum where each and every member of the Triad team had the opportunity to be recognised for and encouraged to produce exceptional work," said Jt. Managing Director of Triad Advertising Varuni Amunugama Fernando. "The idea is to use these internal awards as a diving board to motivate youngsters to strive for greater things," she said.

Gold silver and bronze medals across classified categories that are reflective of the agency's portfolio of clients will be awarded.

Dilith Jayaweera, Jt. Managing Director said, "believing that you can, means that you have gone half the journey. We believe that Sri Lanka can take its creativity to the global stage, small steps like the CAN awards will, no doubt, help us get there."

Triad Advertising - twice adjudged Sri Lanka's number one agency at the Chillies Advertising Awards in 2006 and 2007- committed the year 2007 as the "year of learning." The CAN Awards falls within the long list of learning experiences scheduled for the year.
