New HC in Dambulla/NE
To construct High Courts complex in Dambulla and Nuwara-Eliya. High
Courts in Sri Lanka had been established at the rate of one in each
district.
Community Hall at Kolonnawa
Allocation to build a Community Hall at Wadullawatta, Kolonnawa to
the Kolonnawa Urban Council.
Inland Revenue in Ratnapura
Allocation of land at New Town Ratnapura to the Department of Inland
Revenue to construct a Regional Office.
HQ Police Complex in Ratnapura
Allocation of land at New Town, Ratnapura to the Police Department to
construct Headquarters Police Complex.
Relief to slain priest's family
A relief allowance to the grieved family of the assassinated priest
late Selliah Parameswara Kurukkal of Puthupillayar temple in Santhiveli.
The High Priest of Shri Puthupillayar Temple at Santhiveli late Selliah
Parameswara Kurukkal participated on an invitation at the function held
o n February 3, 2007 when the President visited Vakarai for the first
time after the area being cleared by the security forces.
Amendment of Botanical Gardens Bill
Amendment of National Botanical Gardens Bill. The administration of
the National Botanical Gardens was made under the provisions of the
National Botanical Gardens Ordinance No.31 of 1928. This Ordinance has
been formulated on the assumption that the Botanical Gardens continue to
be under the purview of the Department of Agriculture.
Buildings to Wayamba University
Construction of buildings at the Wayamba University. This university
was established as an affiliated University College and later upgraded
as an independent University. Currently its total student population is
around 1,200. Presently the faculties are housed in small buildings.
Therefore, the Cabinet has granted its approval for three buildings to
house the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries
and Nutrition as well as for the Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation
Management.
Increase IM agriculture in dry zone
To increase the capacity of integrated management in irrigated
agriculture in Dry Zone. This is a Technical Co-operation Project which
is entirely a grant from the Japanese government. The purpose of this
project is to develop a mechanism to improve the agricultural
productivity through capacity building of farmer organizations and
government officers. The project will be implemented in three selected
model sites in Anuradhapura and Kurunegala districts. The Cabinet has
granted its approval to proceed with the Project as a JICA grant and to
allocate Rs. 33.4 million for the local taxes and operating costs.
Augmentation of water treatment plants
Signing of loan facility agreements with Hungarian Export-Import Bank
to finance the augmentation of Labugama and Kalatuwawa water treatment
plants.
