Seizure of 'Indumathy' - one more feather !

The capture of "Indumathy" 'has inflicted a huge blow to the LTTE, sea power this neutralising to a greater extent, according to Naval spokesperson Commander D.K.P.Dassanayake.

Commander Dassanayake told the Sunday Observer that the battle off the shores of Kaddaikadu in the Vettilaikerni area on Tuesday has brought victory to the Navy with the capture of the LTTE vessel. "We believe the vessel would have been named after one of the LTTE women cadres killed in action earlier. Navy had destroyed several big and small LTTE vessels in the previous sea battles.

However it was for the first time the Navy had captured a bigger vessel of the LTTE in good shape. The LTTE craft "Indumathy" is a slightly smaller than the Navy's Israeli built Dvora.
