Vidyartha and Mahamaya take top berth among the seniors

ATHLETICS: Vidyartha College and Mahamaya Girls School, Kandy emerged
senior boys and girls champions respectively at the Kandy District Open
Athletic Championships conducted by the Kandy District Athletic
Association recently at the Bogambara grounds, Kandy.
In the boys events, Vidyartha came on top with 93 points with Trinity
in second position with 69 points and Speedtrack SC, Kandy in third
position with 44 points.
In the events for senior girls, Mahamaya Girls School, Kandy came on
top with 106 points with Speedtrack SC coming second 52 points and
Wattegama Balika in third position with 42 points.
Among the junior boys, Trinity took top spot with 237 points with
Dharmaraja College in second position 128 points and Ranabima Royal
third with 123 points. The junior girls saw Mahamaya taking first place
with 197 points with Pushpadana coming second 110 points and Girls High
School, Kandy third 101 points.
In the events for kids, Trinity came on top of the events for boys
with 69 points with St. Anthony's Katugastota second 49 points and
Chandananda Buddhist School third 35 points and in the girls section,
High School and Hillwood tied for the top place with 31 points each.
In the relays, Dharmaraja College came on top of the boys relays with
53 points with Sri Sumangala, Kandy second 47 points and Vidyartha third
40 points. In the girls relays, Hillwood came on top with 30 points with
St. Anthony's Girls School second 12 points and Mahamaya third 10
points.
