Mobile ban and practice
An Ed of a Sinhala daily wanted to check whether the top Elephants
practise what they preach. On the day the Green Party asked mobile
subscribers to knock their phones off and protest against a government
levy, he called on their mobiles. Atta-Leader, Sun Kind-Leader, Lucky
Milk-Fall, Doc Jay Jay and Aaa-Killer promptly answered their mobiles!
Wedding Sam runs away
Wedding Sam's plan to sling mud on the day Can't-Sil entered the
House of Diyawanna boomeranged. When his former colleagues exposed the
notorious happy and gay times of the bachelor boy, Wedding Sam could not
find a place to hide.
Doc Jay Jay's dual role
Doc Jay Jay is a well-known 'double wicket' player - he tells one
thing in the Wanni and another to people here. He played another dual
role last week. After the Elephant Party Em Pees held placards the day
Can't-Sil took oaths, Doc Jay Jay was the first to call the new Em Pee
and wish him.
Until he turns blue
Astrologers have told Es Bee that his stars would be stronger after
November. His friends have told him that it could be due to two reasons
- weakening of the Wedding Sam factor after his failure to secure a
single Em Pee out of the promised 18 or else due to a cross over if he
turns blue!
No deadlines
Toddy-Jitha met Vaj Abey at the Lobby and asked what their new
deadline to topple the G-ment is. "We have not set time frames,"
Ra-Blue's blue-eyed boy said. But Toddy-Jitha reminded Vaj Abey that Sun
Kind-Leader has repeatedly said that they would form a G-ment after the
Budget.
Back to basics
Has Ra-Blue gone back to the Montessori level after all his dreams of
toppling the G-ment have failed? Last week, he was seen at the village
weekly pola at Melsiripura, distributing leaflets. "Poor guy, he is
preparing for his 15th defeat," an onlooker said. |
