Crafts in Action 2007

'Crafts in Action 2007', on embroidery exhibition by Manel Gamage and her students will be held at the Art Gallery on November 11 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Some exquisite embroidery techniques like Chamankthi embroidery, Kashmiri work, Pachis Kuttu, Brazilian embroidery, Kasoothi embroidery, Blackwork, Asisi embroidery, Chines applique, Crewel embroidery, Ribbon embroidery, Shisha work, Sri Lankan embroidery and many more will be on display.

Unusual traditional designs done entirely with hand embroidery will also be among the exhibits.

Manel who has been in the art and craft field for the past 18 years, has published six sewing books. This exhibition will provide an exclusive array of items for women who are in the field and those who hope to be in the field in the future.
