Outcast II

Summary of last week's story

Erkin the dictator has taken the Kinelander - Faith hostage. Her fiance - Iora is determined to rescue her. But their telekinesis is no match for the technology of the Oralandish dictator. They are rendered helpless when Iora is unexpectedly caught by the Oraland guards, during a rescue attempt.

"I've been expecting you Iora" said Erkin. He was in his early sixties. He had a moustache and eye brows that were permanently knitted in to a frown. Looking at his face Iora thought 'Such hatred'. "Ah ha... 'hatred'...." said Erkin "remember Iora I was not the one who used to 'hate'!" Erkin boomed.

Iora could not speak. He was a man of the New World, deprived as most others of the New World, of the ability to speak.
So he communicated through telepathy 'What did we ever do to you Erkin?' "YOU didn't do anything Iora, But your elders did." 'We are not responsible for what our elders did. Besides all they did was to banish you.'

"Well they did banish me from Kineland among other things" Yelled Erkin. And then he slightly calmed down, but pure evil still radiated from his eyes "And of course you will be held responsible for the actions of your elders. Because your suffering will be their agony." All Iora could sense was pure hatred.

Iora was taken out of the chamber by half a dozen guards, and thrown in to a dungeon. Even without his powers he was still a strong young man. As soon as the guards were out of sight Iora tried to take off the collar. 'It won't work.

You cannot take it off, I've tried that already.' It was the voice of Faiths mind communicating to him through telepathy. He looked around exhilarated, but she was no where in sight. Faith and Iora always had a special talent uncommon to other Kinelanders.

They were capable of communicating without seeing each other. 'Where are you?' asked Iora, impatient.

'In the cell next to you' Iora turned to his right. 'No to your left' 'What did he do to you, did he hurt you?' Iora was eager to make sure. 'Know he didn't do anything to me' 'Good, now we have to get out of here.'

'No Iora....' Faith almost sounded panicked. Then in a more calm voice she communicated 'We should wait for our elders. They are probably already on their way.' 'No Faith by that time it may already be too late.

We have to escape immediately. There's no telling what this maniac would do next.' 'No Iora. He's not as bad as you think.' Iora could not believe what he was hearing.

'What are you mean Faith. He's keeping innocent people hostage. Isn't that bad?' 'He is keeping us hostage but he hasn't harmed us.' 'Yet! Do you want to wait to find out?' Iora was getting annoyed. 'Do not be angry Iora.' said Faith in her soothing voice.

'In spite of his apparent evilness I believe he has a good soul. He's troubled inside and I can sense extreme pain deep in his mind.' 'I don't care Faith we have to escape from here.' But in his heart Iora knew that Faith was right, she was never wrong.

However they did not have to make up their minds about escaping. Before the first light of dawn they heard the first sign of change - the screams of the Oralanders.

Before a lapse of even five minutes the dungeon doors were opened by the invading Kinland army and Iora and Faith ran out towards the great wall.

There ley a ruined Oraland, in the midst of which was the most powerful elder of all Kineland - Garlen.

He has raised a horrendous tornado and Erkin was trying to keep himself from being blown away by hanging on to a tree. But to no avail. He lost his grip and was dragged away for almost a mile by the horrendous wind.

He fell on to the ground and hit his head on a rock. Garlen made his way slowly to Erkin. He looked at Erkin menacingly. 'Noooo stop!' yelled Faith at the very moment, which caught Garlen off guard 'What is wrong with you child, he is a dangerous man and must be stopped at all cost.'

Iora dragged Faith back and kept her from running to Erkin 'You it was you!' Faith started to wail. She was finally able to reach Erkins mind through the almost impenetrable defence of his mind.

'You stopped him from marrying my mother that's why she killed her self. They were in love. And I am their daughter.' Garlen fell silent. Iora let go of Faith and she fell to the ground beside Erkin in tears.

'Now you know I never meant you or Iora any harm. I just wanted to see you.....' he talked with great difficulty. 'I just wanted to be your father.' Then looking at Iora he said.

'Keep my daughter happy. Because she deserves it.' The last thing he said was 'Do not hate or fear what is alien and different.'
