Tamils a peaceful community - Anandasangaree

TULF Leader V. Anandasangaree said the Tamils are a peaceful community and cannot be labelled as one with a terrorist outfit such as the LTTE which is blood-thirsty and brings misery to their own community.

Making a statement on the International Day of Tolerance and Non-Violence, Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) leader Anandasangaree said though some have compared the late Chelvanayagam with the LTTE, the late Tamil leader was committed to non violence and should not be compared to the ruthless LTTE.

"Hardly a day passes without a person dying of violence particularly in the North. During the past three days six violent deaths have been reported from Jaffna alone," he said.
