Ragama CC in thrilling win

CRICKET: All rounder Kaushalya Weeraratne hit an unbeaten half century as Ragama CC edged out Chilaw Marians SC by one wicket with three balls to spare in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier 'A' match played at Katunayake yesterday.

Chilaw Marians SC: 232 for 9 in 59 overs (M. Udawatte 31, P. Gunaratne 19, G. Wijekoon 116, D. Hettiarachchi 18, T. Darshanapriya 3 for 51, S. Jeewantha 2 for 37).

Ragama CC: 234 for 9 in 49.3 overs (D. Ranatunga 41, I. Senaratne 24, H. Vithana 32, I. de Saram 26, K. Weeraratne 59 n.o, D. Hettiarachchi 2 for 37, M. Siriwardena 3 for 36, P. Gunaratne 3 for 20).

Baduraliya in major upset

Baduraliya CC created a major upset as they defeated the more fancied SSC team by three wickets in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tire 'A' match played at Maitland Place yesterday.

After restricting the SSC batting line up for 200 runs, Baduraliya CC reached their target with nearly ten overs to spare with Sudeepa Perera stroking a superb half century with seven boundaries.

SSC: 200 in 48.1 overs (T. Paranavithana 86, A. Gunawardena 21, K. Silva 24, K. Lokuarachchi 19, T. Sampath 5 for 21, N. Bandaratilleke 2 for 30).

Baduraliya CC: 201 for 7 in 40.3 overs (D. Vitharana 42, T. Sampath 22, A. Karthik 37, S. Perera 50, D. Prasad 2 for 47, K. Lokuarachchi 4 for 34).

Sparkling 70 by Dilshan

Tillekeratne Dilshan hammered a sparkling 70 from just 39 deliveries with five sixes and six boundaries as Bloomfield cruised to an easy seven wicket victory over Moors SC in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier 'A' match played at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Moors SC: 153 in 46.2 overs (R. Peiris 39, B. Perera 34, T. Lakshitha 3 for 42, C. Jayasinghe 2 for 23, S. Dissanayake 2 for 19).

Bloomfield: 157 for 3 in 18.5 overs (C. Fernando 30, T. Dilshan 70, R. Herath 2 for 20).

Colts CC in shock win

Two splendid half centuries from opener Shantha Kalawitigoda and Jeewantha Kulatunga helped Colts CC score an upset seven wicket victory over the defending champions NCC in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier 'A' match played at Havelock Park yesterday.

NCC: 183 in 46.4 overs (R. Wessells 28, D. Indika 24, M. Bandara 42, A. Ganegama 23, T. Kottahewa 32, R. Perera 4 for 41, A. Mathews 2 for 20, K. Perera 3 for 29).

Colts CC: 186 for 3 in 28 overs (S. Kalawitigoda 53, D. Perera 28, D. Pathirana 39 n.o, J. Kulatunga 54 n.o, K. Kulasekera 3 for 59).

Tamil Union triumph

Opener Ian Daniel hit a solid half century with one six and seven boundaries to help Tamil Union beat CCC by five wickets in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier 'A' match played at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium yesterday.

CCC: 178 in 50 overs (C. Kumara 31, N. Perera 38, N. Rupasinghe 19, R. Pushpakumara 19, A. Polonowita 19, S. Lakmal 2 for 36, M. Maduwantha 3 for 20, M. Pushpakumara 2 for 29).
