New MD at Lanka Bell

Lanka Bell has appointed Prasad Samarasinghe as Managing Director of the company from April 7, 2008. Samarasinghe has been a Director of Lanka Bell since 2005.

He holds a BSc (Hons) and a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Electronics and Telecommunications from the University of Moratuwa and was formerly the Chief Operating Officer (Support Services) of Sri Lanka Insurance and Head of IT at Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC. He has over ten years' experience in the IT and communications industries and is also a Director of e-Channeling Ltd.

Samarasinghe will spearhead the technical operations of Lanka Bell together with all other operational and administrative areas.
