President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Defence Minister
and Commander of the three Armed Forces has appointed Major General
Lawrence Fernando the Overall Operations Commander Central Province from
today.
In addition to his new appointment, Major General Fernando will
continue as Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.
