CLEA conference from June 26 to 28
The Commonwealth Legal Education Association Regional Conference 2008
will be held in Colombo from June 26-28. The theme of the conference is
“Legal Education Towards Value Based System of Law” and the purpose is
to explore the avenues by which values can be integrated into the legal
education curriculum.
This may be the most formidable challenge which presents itself
before the legal fraternity on the face of various complexities which
the legal system is exposed. There is also a student conference on
“Value Based Legal Education and Challenges of the Globalised Society”.
It is organised to give an opportunity for law students of South Asia
to interact and discover the strategies of meeting challenges in the new
world.
A moot competition also will be held between teams of participating
countries. One team consisting of three members each and nomination will
be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
Prof. Mir Aurangazeb and his team from Pakistan, Prof. S. Sivakumaran
and his team from India Prof Habeebur Rahman and Prof Aminul Rahman and
their team from Bangladesh and a team from South Africa have already
confirmed. |
