Abans to sponsor 46th ANCL Aloka Pooja

Arrangements have been made to celebrate the Poson Festival marking the advent of Arahat Mahinda Thera on Poson Poya Day with the message of Buddhism this year too in a grand and fitting manner. Abans Ltd will sponsor the Mihintale Aloka pooja organised by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd for the fourth consecutive year.

A Poson Week will be held from today till June 21 centred round the Mihintale sacred area, Atamasthanaya and the Tantirimale Raja Maha Vihara on the theme "Non violence" and arrangements have been made to ensure the security of the vast crowds including VIPs participating in Poson activities and religious observances, said a spokesman for the Anuradhapura Poson Festivities Committee.

Dhammadesana programs Buddhist discussions and meditation programs will be held at all major places of Buddhist worship in the region as part of the Poson Week activities.

The Mihintale Poson Aloka pooja will be conducted for the 46th time by ANCL (Lake House) in collaboration with the CEB from June 17 to 19.
