FM to chair Dubai confab

Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama who left on an official visit to Qatar and Dubai yesterday will chair a two day conference of Sri Lankan Heads of Mission, based in the Middle East from January 14-15.

Minister Bogollagama will discuss issues relating to labour and employment, investment promotion, trade and tourism promotion. The promotion of Lankan tea exports to the region will figure prominently at this meeting.

During his stay in Doha, the Minister is scheduled to have an audience with the Heir Apparent of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheik Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and also meetings with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jaber Al Thani as well as other Ministers and key dignitaries.

The Foreign Minister will thereafter leave for Dubai on January 12, where he will have a meeting with the President and senior officials of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
