Peterites in 10-wicket win over Sebastianites

CRICKET: The two Pereras, Vinod (5 for 21), Nirochana (4 for 19) and Chamara Pieris (6 for 33) bowled St. Peter's to a 10 wicket win over St. Sebastian's, Moratuwa in their inter-school cricket match played at Bambalapitiya yesterday.

In reply to the Peterites first innings score of 282, the Sebs who were 80 for 3 overnight were all out for 113. Only Deshan Dias made a significant contribution scoring 33 and 83 for the Moratuwa score.

St. Sebastians who were made to follow were dismissed for 194 in the second innings leaving the Peterites to get 26 runs to win.

St. Peter's 282 and 27 for no loss (Angelo Emmanuel 14 n.o, Andrea Berenger 8 n.o).

St. Sebastians 80 for 3 overnight 113 (Deshan Dias 33, Prageeth Dilshan 27, Vinod Perera 5 for 21, Nirochana Perera 4 for 19) and 194 (Deshan Dias 83, Kasun Fernando 28, S. De Mel 21, Chatura Peiris 6 for 33).

Fonseka bowls Thomians to victory

Chamal Fonseka took a match bag of nine wickets to help S. Thomas' College beat Isipatana College outright by four wickets in their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match concluded at Mount Lavinia yesterday.

Isipatana: 159 and 107 (C. Fonseka 5 for 41, F. Saleem 2 for 18).

S. Thomas': 125 (F. Saleem 24, R. Nilushan 42, C. Fonseka 31, A. Dhammika 2 for 17, S. Premaratne 4 for 19, M. de Silva 2 for 15) and 134 for 6 (F. Saleem 22, R. Nilushan 34, C. Fonseka 31, S. Premaratne 2 for 19, A. Dhammika 2 for 17, A. de Silva 2 for 15).

Wesley force a draw

Wesley College forced a draw to their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match against Wesley College concluded at Campbell Park yesterday.

St. Joseph's: 227 and 169 for 5 (S. Perera 41, C. Kumara 72, R. Suriyakumara 2 for 28).

Wesley: 149 (F. Samarasekera 33, R. Suriyakumara 24, S. Jayawardena 33 n.o. D. Dhambarage 2 for 43, S. Weerasinghe 4 for 36, T. Rajasuriya 3 for 21).

Moratu MV hit back

Moratu Maha Vidyalaya having registered five outright victories from six games came out with a poor batting display against Karandeniya Central College when they were shot out for 120 runs in their inter-school under-19 cricket tournament match being played at Moratuwa.

A. Sampath ripped through the Vidyalian batting line up with 7 for 39 runs. The homsters bounced back and dismissed the visitors for 116 runs with Chatura Peiris claiming 4 for 40 runs.
