KARATE: A brother and sister combination of Prabashwara and
Priyathamara de Silva are showing signs of becoming champions in karate.
Prabashwara of Mawilmada Madhya Maha Vidyalaya, Kandy won both the
Kumthe and Kathe Karate competitions (14 year age group) at the Indian
International Open Karate Championships held in Chennai, India last
month.
Sister Priyathamara of Pushpadana Girls School, Kandy won the Kumthe
Championship and became runner-up in the Kathe competition (under 17 age
group) at the same tournament.
