In response to ANCL invitation:

Lahore hero coming today

Meher Mohammad Khalil, the driver of the coach that drove the Sri Lankan cricket team to safety when they came under terrorist fire on March 3, 2009 in Lahore, Pakistan is arriving in Colombo this evening on the invitation of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon (ANCL) Ltd. Immediately following the news of Khalil's selfless act of heroism the ANCL offered him a week - long holiday in Sri Lanka with his family.

His visit was eagerly awaited by the grateful Sri Lankan public. SriLanka Cricket will welcome him on April 6 and Sports Minister Gamini Lokuge is expected to host a dinner to him. The Pakistan High Commission has also organized a reception at the High Commission. He will be also hosted by the Organization of Professional Associations.
