Four-cornered battle for schools' rugby plum

RUGBY: Defending champions Kingswood College, Kandy, hometown rivals Trinity College, and former champs St. Peter's College and Royal College will be four of the foremost schools gunning for the plum of local schools rugby, when the inaugural Y FM sponsored under-20 Inter-School League Division 1 `A' group tournament.Giving Kingswood a run for their money would be last year's League runners-up Trinity. St. Peter's, who retained the League Trophy for two consecutive years before losing it last season, in their bid to clinch a hat-trick of titles, will be captained by speedy centre Dilshan Paul.

The groups - Division 1 `A': Kingswood (defending champs), Trinity, St. Peter's, Royal, S. Thomas', Isipathana, St. Joseph's, Mahanama and St. Anthony's Katugastota.

Division 1 `B': Dharmaraja, Vidyartha, Wesley, Thurstan, Ananda, Prince of Wales and Zahira.
