welfare centres for displaced people in Vavuniya in order to protect
them from harassment and discrimination, according to government sources

where more local and international assistance is flowing in.
According to sources, the presence of few more ex-LTTE cadres inside
these centres who did not surrender earlier, is threatening the safety
of the civilians sheltered in these camps, but with the security
enhanced the conditions are under total control, sources confirmed.
Confirmed ex-LTTE cadres will be under detention.Furthermore four new
welfare centres are under construction in a new area close to
Medavachchiya to accommodate families separated from the main welfare
centres for displaced people in Cheddikulam in Vavuniya.
