Demand for bicycles up by 70% in NE

With the end of the war the demand for push bicycles is expected to increase by 70 percent, in the North and East.

To meet this projected demand, Singer Sri Lanka and one of the leading bicycle manufacturers, Amal Suriyage and Company signed an MoU to market push bicycles made in Sri Lanka."We are, mainly targeting the North and East and the largest distributor network of Singer Sri Lanka, will take these locally made bicycles all over the country," said CEO, Amal Suriyage.

"Our next step would be to open our second manufacturing plant in the North and we have already tied up with an Chinese investor for this,"he added.An official from Singer Sri Lanka said that this is the first time such a network was formed to market push bicycles.
