Artistes to be honoured

Visharada Saheli Lochana Gamage of `Maharajananie’ fame performs
on a school stage during a music festival.

Visharada (Miss) Saheli Lochana Gamage who sang the popular song `Maharajanani'
at the victory celebrations held in Colombo under the patronage of
President Mahinda Rajapaksa will be honoured by the State Film
Corporation at the `Jothi Rathriya' Memorial Festival held at the
Elphinstone Theatre Colombo under the patronage of Cultural Affairs and
National Heritage Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena on July 7 at 6
pm.Lyricist Sunil R. Gamage and Music Director Samantha Perera will also
be honoured along with Saheli at this festival on a proposal made by
Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne.Saheli who is a promising medical student has
also sung the Tamil version of the song and is presently rehearsing for
its English version.
